I met my husband at the UW where he made "All American" in swimming. We married in 1962 and returned to Hawaii in 1965 with our 4 mo. old son. He worked as the Athletic Director for Palama Settlement and later as a supervisor at Family Court. I was secretary to a State Senator for 17 yrs. and a City Councilman for 3 yrs. I then worked for the Mayor of Honolulu for 10 years.
We spent our weekends camping on the beaches and hiking in the mountains. We also enjoyed golf and I also enjoyed working with my doctor who practiced preventive medicine. We did cooking classes to help people make changes in their diets.
My dear friend Judy Page (Wallitner) just visited Kauai and came to Honolulu for a day of bobbing in the surf and lunch at a beach side cafe. There were 3 of us. Susan Demattea (Webber) also lives in Honolulu. We all claim 50 years of friendship with Susan and I nearer to 60 as we have known each other since the 3rd grade.
I treat every day as a precious gift enjoying my family and friends, reading, movies, the beautiful outdoors and Tai Chi. I also try to hang out with positive people who like to laugh!
