well, i've been working and raising 3 wonderful children with my lovely wife, now I'm getting to watch my 3 grandchildren torture my sons like they did me{hahahaha}! I was recently declared dissabled due to knee and back trouble {the knee trouble started way back when I played baseball. I went to slide into 3rd base during a game but ended up sliding into the base on both my knee's which broke the cartilage in my knee's!!! The doctor told me it caused something called "Osgood Schlaughter's Disease"!} I was in the Army for a short period of time but unfortunately was medically discharged due to my knee problems! The military doctor told me if I didn't have corrective knee surgery at that time {which I could not afford} that I would be crippled by the time I was 40!! Well, he must have been a psychic because my 1st major knee surgery came @ 39, which was followed by a 2nd knee surgery @ 41 and not much later was followed by major back surgery @ 43, all of which has led me to file for my disability in May of 2006, and that was just recently approved in November of 2008!! but, other than that, I haven't been doing a whole lot

School Story:

while I wasn't associated with the more "popular" crowds, I did have quite a few friends and I enjoyed my time in school. The most memorable of which I was just reminded of a few weeks ago when my brother was up visiting friends and they were going through the old yearbooks, they found a story about me in the yearbook!! what happened was one day this girl who worked with the year book came into the lunch room and sat down with me and asked if she could do a story about me, which took me by surprise but I said what the heck, so we went out to the parking lot where she started to ask me some questions and then proceeded to take my picture under the hood of her car {I hadn't driven that day it would have been under the hood of my car since I owned a Plymouth and she had was a ford!!!!!!{check out the story in our senior year book and then this will make more sense!!!} also, another fond memory was the time that I was challenged to a drag race by Joe Hawkins [you may remember he was supposed to be the fastest guy in high school with his 1970 green Chevelle Super Sport!!!! {he was also recently arrested for drug distribution and made the front page of the Seneca Journal!!!!!} but anyway {this was my chance to be infamous as the next guy to be slaughtered by him} we headed to the beltline near the school {it wasn't nearly as busy as it has become today} and we decided to do a rolling start with my best friend James O'kelley waving his hand to start the race {it shouldn't have even been close because his car was much quicker than mine, but you know how fate sometimes plays a hand in these things} and at the drop of James hand we were both on our cars hard with Joe out front but then something happened that would change my life forever....he missed the shift between 2nd to 3rd and I blew by him leaving him holding his gear shifter in his hand!!! Could it be true.....had I just beaten the fastest guy in high school? And the answer was yes and I was floating on cloud 9!!!! Well, when we returned to the school all he could do was moan and groan about how it wasn't fair and how he thought we should race again!!! Well, my friends, my mama didn't raise a fool!!! I had beaten him fair and square and there was no way on earth I was going to race him again!!! I knew what the outcome most likely would have been the 2nd time around!! No one can ever take that win away from me!!!! I won't ever forget that day and what's even better still, my youngest son went to school with his son {I told both my son's about that race} and when my son questioned his son about it, he told my son that his father is still bitter about the outcome and to this day still complains about how he didn't think it was fair!!!! You know, it's funny how things have changed since then because this sorta' stuff would never ever happen today because of all the problems with the hoodlums and lowlife's selling drugs or taking them and also all the assorted gangs and losers in general!! They have no choice now but to man the schools with a police officer watching things all day as well as directing traffic around the school!! I feel sorry for the kid's now because although the things we did back then weren't always the greatest ideas in the world and were sometimes kind of dangerous, their memories won't nearly be as colorful as the one's we have and that to me is very sad!!! I guess it's the times we live in now but very unfortunate!!! And here's one more.....It was Christmas 1979 and although not very nice of me, it's still funny!!! Anyway, I gave Mr. Hamilton a Christmas gift!!! I went to the store the night before and picked out the best thing I could find to give him, I even got him a card to go with it!! Well, it wasn't wrapped up, just placed in a nice bag. When I got to school the next morning I headed straight for the office where I ran into him in the hallway close to the office and said "Merry Christmas Mr. Hamilton", I've got a gift for you!! Well, he was like you didn't have to do that Tim and I said "yes I did"! He went to open the bag and I told him that he also needed to be sure and read the card too!! Well, he opened the bag up and there it was, some car wax and a waxing cloth!!! He said "well, that's very nice of you Tim" and then he opened his Christmas card to which he wasn't quite as pleased with as it read........"Merry Christmas Mr. Hamilton! Hey, it isn't cool if your chrome dome doesn't shine"!!! Then he said, "that wasn't very nice at all Tim"!!! Ah, the good old days!! I wouldn't trade 'em for anything!!!!
