NEW ORLEANS, La. - Debbie Lee Jackson, 53, of 4637 Metropolitan Drive, New Orleans, La., died Friday, March 20, 2009, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today at St. Mary's Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Albert Barron offi-ciating. Burial will be in New Orleans. Survivors include her daughter, Alexis Ann Jackson of New Orleans, La.; her son, Quincey Ray Jackson of New Orleans, La.; one sister, Ann Lee Barron of Snow Hill; three brothers, Daryl Lee and Ray Lee, both of Snow Hill, Larry Whit-field of Temple Hill, Md.; and one grandchild. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. Albritton-Carraway Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family will at 3002 Mewborn Church Road, Snow Hill.

Debbie was a member of the Gospel Chorus and secretary of the Afro-American History Club.  She fought an extensive battle with cancer but remained hopeful and cheerful until the end.  Debbie slipped away on March 20, 2009 at 12 pm in Pitt Memorial Hospital.
