My guess is that I'm probably the only one who legally changed their name. Names are like shoes or clothes in that they need to be a good fit, and so my name is Jorie since 1981. I think part of the reason too is I really want to sue the stork, but I won't go into that here. Anyway, I am Jorie Lamb and that's the good fit I hoped for.

I have sweet memories of some wonderful and worthwhile friends and I know I didn't appreciate them at the time like I should have. *The first person to offer friendship to me was Claudia Barnhart and I remember a sort of freshmen initiation... very gentle and fun. I remember she was a raven haired beauty. Nobody made me laugh more than Dee. She and her family were a refuge for me. Gail Reed was strong and sweet. Justine was amazing, talented. I still think about the brilliant, hilarious Cassie, Jean and Martha and wish I could go back then and be sitting with them at lunch, shopping, going to the beach with them. If it wasn't for Joy Sakaue I wouldn't have graduated. Denise Thrane was extremely kind, extremely encouraging. I hope Vickie Morales has done fantastic things with her life. Marilee Ginsburg was a joy. Her Mom had a poster of Bob Dylan in their living room. Very important: Anne Avegno, I wish I could have taken your advice.

Hollywood and Alhambra A little shopping in the latter and mostly gawking in the former When my family and I visited Hollywood two years ago, it was far different than my dusty little memory.

I've thought often about Frau Epstein and how at the time I had no clue about what an amazing lady she was. Though I was a not-so-great student, she took time to talk to me and she was warm, funny and kind.

If I could time travel back I would sit at the feet of those who love Jesus Christ and listen and learned with all my mind, heart, soul and strength and I would've surrendered everything to Him. I quote someone I love about this: "God's approval of me isn't based on anything I have accomplished or might in the future. He approves of me because I stand forgiven before Him, and I'm forgiven because I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and have received God's forgiveness. That makes me totally acceptable to Him."

There is a Heaven and there is a hell: REALLY. Both places are forever. There is no limbo, no reincarnation, no atonement by any human being after death, no do-overs, etc. There is only what Jesus Christ said there is.
