Comments:

Since my last write-up I was downsized from the company for which I had worked for nearly 20 years.

Celia and I decided to "come home" to Wisconsin--where we lived when we were first married and where two of my three sisters are now living, and I've been working here, four blocks from home for several years--
We love it here; we just miss our son and grandchildren in Idaho-- Just got back from our annual 3500 mile trek out to see them!

I work for Kolbe Window & Door Company--

our daughters are both at home; my older daughter Cati is a local harpist and commutes to study with the UW-Madison harp professor--

Update on my family (April 2013):

nothing has changed much; I'm still working at the same place, but semi-retired; I work every other week. Our two girls are still at home; we just keep planting fruit trees here and adding garden beds.
Oh, we had a family reunion in September of 2012; we met our son and his wife and their three little ones there and canoed down the Niobrara. That is one very nice river. It was a little low, but it was still very good paddling. We stopped in Spencer on our way back, but we couldn't stay. We had too many miles to go to get home.
I hope that everyone has a good time at the reunion. Spencer looked really good to me and my family in September of 2012.

Update on October 14, 2013

Nothing has changed, except that I'm working more than I was--I was working 50%; I'm now at 75%; it's kind of tough going from having more time for home projects and volunteer work (church mostly) to having that much less time for both--but I'll never be bored. It's the same job; they just needed me to work more hours for a while.

March 2014 update

The last picture is on the beach at Grayton Beach in the Panhandle of Florida. We had to get away for a week from 3 degrees F and building fires to stay warm. The sand on the beach was warm and remarkable. Had a great time and get-away.

School Story:

I'm the one who fell off the back of the bleachers during a musical taping in Sioux City, Iowa--

with the choir--

Craig Scheinost has left an In Memory comment for Don Chapman DECEASED.
Aug 25, 2017 at 4:33 AM

I rode to school almost every morning with Don and several others for over a year.  Whenever Don walked into the room the atmosphere just picked up, became lighter, happier.  He was so friendly and had a presence about him that encouraged interaction; open friendly.  Which is sad beause if whoever gunned him down in the inner city of Chicago could have just taken some time to get to know him before pulling a pistol on him, they probably wouldn't have done it!  Someone told me this and that he had graduated from college in social work, which makes sense knowing the kind of person he was.  He was quite genuine and if he had been given a chance could have been a real force for improvement in the quality of life in the area he was living and working in.  Memory from Craig Scheinost
