April 28, 1940 - January 13, 2022

Helene Katherine Kimball, age 81, of Waxhaw, passed away in the company of family at home due to an extended illness on Thursday, January 13, 2022. Mrs. Kimball was born on April 28, 1940 in Springfield, VT to her parents, the late Raymond and Helen Jeffrey.

She was a graduate of Springfield High School in 1958 and received her LPN from Henry Putnam Memorial Hospital in 1960. In 1961, she married the late Edward Wallace Kimball, Sr. and they resided in her hometown of Springfield, VT. They later moved to Waxhaw, NC, where she was a nurse at Monroe Hospital in the nursery. She continued her work performance at Dr. Hong’s office in Waxhaw until she retired. Mrs. Kimball led an active life and enjoyed spending time with family, going to church, traveling and reading.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 2:00 PM in Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. Burial will follow in Waxhaw City Cemetery. The family will visit with friends and relatives on Friday, January 28, 2022 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM in Gordon Funeral Service.

Mrs. Kimball is survived by her son, Edward, Jr. and wife Lisa; her daughter, Teresa “Terri” Fowler and husband, James; her granddaughter, Tonya Kimball; her great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Kimball; her sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Martin, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
