Joyce Phelps (Crosier)

SHAFTSBURY-- Joyce Ann Crosier, 67, a resident of Myers Road, died at her home on Thursday evening, Dec. 27, 2007, following a brief illness.

She was born in Burlington on June 14, 1940, the daughter of the late Ernest and Bertha (Cadorette) Phelps. She was a graduate of Chester High School.

Joyce resided in Shaftsbury for 41 years. She was employed at the Energizer plant in Bennington as a quality inspector in the laboratory. She was the widow of Ronald Crosier, who died on Dec. 27, 2003. Joyce was a former member of the Bennington Club and along with her husband had run the Charity House Bingo House for AIDS. She enjoyed gardening, loved her home, children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Michael Jones, and his wife, Vicky Newman-Jones, of Cambridge, N.Y., and her daughter Tracy Jones of New London, Conn.; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Donald and Yolande Phelps of Dery, N.H., and Richard and Linda Phelps of Chester, N.H.; her sister, Carol DeCapot, and her husband, Donald, of Londonderry, N.H.; several grandchildren, including David Jones, Whitney Jones, Billie Jo Newman, Jennifer Breault, Nikki Newman, Samantha Newman and Benjamin Newman, along with many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She also leaves her companion, Leonard Anzivino of Bennington.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 31, at 10 a.m. at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St. Bennington, with the Rev. Vincent Coppola, officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in Grandview Cemetery in North Bennington.
