GOFFSTOWN - Eleanor Porritt passed away peacefully at her home after a long battle of declining health on May 6, 2013.

Miss Porritt was born Aug. 11, 1927, daughter of William W. and Alice (Mann) Porritt of Goffstown.

She was a graduate of Goffstown High School class of 1945 and Simmons College class of 1949. Miss Porritt taught home economics in Springfield, Vt., Public School for 37 years.

She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Ruth K. Porritt.

After her retirement from teaching school, she was curator of the Goffstown Historical Society for 24 years, and a member of the Goffstown Main Street Program.

Miss Porritt is survived by several cousins and other extended family members.

SERVICES: Per her request there are no calling hours. A graveside funeral service will be held Friday at 3:30 p.m. at the family plot at the Westlawn Cemetery in Goffstown. The French and Rising Funeral Home 17 South Mast St., Goffstown is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Elliot Hospital Hospice, Goffstown Main Street Program, and Goffstown Historical Society in her memory.
