April 13, 1913 - October 20, 1972

SPRINGFIELD -Irene G Pulsipher, 59, well-known retired Springfield teacher, died late Friday at Mary Fletcher Hospital in Burlington.

She was born in Springfield April 13 1913 daughter of Alfred and Mabel (Smith) LaFountain. Mrs Pulsipher graduated from Springfield High School in l931 and from the University of Vermont in 1935 She taught school in Bradford and Montpelier and in Wallingford Conn.

Later she returned to High School, where she taught for many years, retiring in 1969. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary here.

Mrs Pulsipher's husband, Russell P Pulsipher, died May 17 1971 She is survived by her sister Mrs Melvin W Moore of Woodstock and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 pm at Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield. The Rev David J Heintzelman, pastor of the First Congregational Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 7-9 pm.
