James E. Spindler 81, passed away on Friday evening October 8, 2021 at the Springfield Hospital in Springfield, Vermont. He was born August 12, 1940 in Springfield, Vt. the son of Frederick A. and Frances (Lafko) Spindler. He attended Springfield Schools, graduated Springfield High School class of 1958, and earned his Bachelors Degree from Johnson State, graduating class of 1964.

Jim began his 34-year teaching career in 1964 at the Southview School in Springfield, He moved on to Teacher, and Principal at the East School for many years, retiring in 1999. After retiring from teaching, Jim worked for a few years at the Crown Point Country Club.

He was an avid reader, loved the Red Sox, enjoyed the theatre and was active with the Springfield Community Players for many years. He also enjoyed spending time in Maine enjoying the beaches and the ocean.

He is survived by three sisters; Kristine West (George) of Manchester, NH., Paula S. Ross (Tom) of New London, NH., and Julie Spindler Daniel of Hadley, NY. Two brothers; John F. Spindler of Springfield, Vt., and Casey J. Spindler of North Springfield, Vt. Also, by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, one sister Marcia Shepard, and one brother Frederick E. Spindler.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 on Wednesday October 27, 2021 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Charlestown, NH.
