Deceased Name: Dean R. Buxton
PERKINSVILLE - Dean R. "Bucky" Buxton died April 18, 2008, at Springfield Hospital.

He was born in Plainfield on May 2, 1941, the son of Raymond W. and Violet G. Batchelder Buxton.

Mr. Buxton retired from the town of Springfield Public Works Department after 48 years of service in 2007. He was also the groundskeeper at Plain Cemetery in Weathersfield for more than 25 years.

He enjoyed puttering around his home, collecting lawn tractors and trading trucks.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Dorothy A. Snide Buxton; four daughters, Deborah Tyson of Vernon, Terri Lynn Waugh of White River Junction, Tammy Buxton of Springfield, Ore., and Deana Fuller of Ashueleot, N.H.; stepdaughters, Mary Losavio, Deborah Poire, Peggy Grote, and stepson, James Jenks; his sisters, Florence Meigs of Passumpsic, Jeanette Angers of Perkinsville, Raelene Emerson of Waterbury, Linda Bergeron of Claremont, N.H., and Sally Buxton of Springfield; 24 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Dean; brothers, Merrill "Bud" and Fred Buxton; sisters, Charlene Devereaux, Patricia Gifford; and stepdaughter, Nancy Macey.

The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 2, in Plain Cemetery, Weathersfield.

A reception will follow at Gospel Hall, Route 106, North Springfield.
