Ok, I'll try to remember back 40 years...hmmm, the first 5 or so years after school seems like one mistake lead to another. But nothing grows us up like having children so life improved!
I got a real estate license to list homes that my husband built and after our divorce I finally went to college. In 1982, I started working at the Clallam County Public Utility District (as a paper shredder! It was one of 4 part time jobs I had to help with college fees...oh, and feed my two kids) and I am still with the PUD (no, we don't even have paper shredders anymore). I worked in the Records Dept, Customer Service, Accounting (more college classes!), Purchasing - I liked that and when people asked what I did all day I would tell them...I shop and buy! and then the Meter Shop where I currently work. I install electric meters - mostly our Automatic Reading meters and I test and calibrate them and maintain that system. I hope to retire in about 5 years.
For fun I have fostered/rescued dogs and am down to two of my own right now. I love walking them and watching the big one swim. Mostly I enjoy spending time with my kids and family and friends. I play single and double deck pinochle a couple times a week. I try to work out twice a week but it's hard to stick to that with the great weather we have been having here lately.
