Kenny and I were buddies almost from the first day we met back in the second grade at Long Point grade school. We remained very good friends until Kenny's untimely passing in July of 2008. There were periods when we didn't see each other as much as we would have liked but that didn't diminish our friendship or respect I have for him.

Later years, during the time Kenny was battling cancer, when he felt up to it he would drive a grain truck or run a stalk shredder for me. We had made a deal for him to buy my 18' Grumman canoe a while before he passed but he never got a chance to get it or use it. I will most likely never sell it now.

A memory I shall always cherish and am especially proud of was Kenny asking me to stand up for him as his best man in he and Diane's wedding party when they were married back in 1985. It is said one has a precious few, really good friends throughout their whole life. I am honored, proud and very fortunate that Ken Carpenter was one of mine.

Kenny, I know you're fishing to your hearts content now! Fish on buddy!!
