YAKIMA - Michael Joseph Sedlacek, 59, of Selah, WA died Friday, November 30, 2012 at Yakima Regional Medical Center. Mike was born in St. Paul, Nebraska on December 26, 1952 to Vencil A. and Lydia Ann (Adamek) Sedlaceck. Mike graduated from Sunnyside High School in 1971 and worked for North American Van Lines until he was hired at UPS in 1978 where he spent the next 27 years as a delivery driver in Selah, retiring in 2005.

Mike was married to the love of his life Donna (Hall) Sedlacek in 1977. They began their journey of life together in Yakima, WA where they raised two daughters, Missy and Katy. Mike had a love for life and made sure to make every moment of every day count. His list of hobbies and interests are far too long to list, but truly dear to his heart. He really was a "jack of all trades" who can fix anything, sell anything or make a good bargain with you.

His biggest passion was helping people. He was the guy you could count on not only for help and advice but also for a good laugh, at his expense or yours. Mike never met a stranger. He cherished the close friendships he had, especially with his "cronies" Dean Bass, Rick King and Dave Scott who passed away just six short months ago. Family was important to Mike, his love for his 8 siblings, countless nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles will never be forgotten, every single one held a special place in his heart. His whole world was taking care of his wife and girls. They will be forever grateful for the sacrifices and devotion he made for them and will continue to live out his legacy of loving life and helping people.

Mike’s wife and daughters would like to say a special thank you to the Selah Fire and Rescue, EMR ambulance services and the Yakima Regional Hospital teams in the ER and Cath lab, you all went above and beyond to help our beloved Husband and Dad. Also a big thank you to Dr. Julia Robertson, who hasn’t left our side.

Mike is survived by his wife, Donna Sedlacek of Selah; two daughters, Melissa Sedlacek of Selah and Katy Sedlacek of Spokane; his sisters, Lillian (Roger) Lobdell of Coeur d’Alene, ID, Jan Wallick of Cashmere, WA, his twin sister, Nancy Schaible and Roxanne Judd both of Coeur d’Alene, ID; his brothers, Bob (Kathy) Sedlacek of Newport, WA, Father Richard Sedlacek of Kennewick, WA and Tom (Sandy) Sedlacek of Kennewick, WA; his brother-in-law, Randy (Barb) Hall of Pasco, WA and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vencil and Lydia Sedlacek a brother, Ronnie Sedlacek, a brother-in-law, Fred Wallick and best friend, Dave Scott.

Mike kept giving and helping others even after his death, he was a registered organ donor and in his honor the family would like to encourage everyone to register themselves or make a financial donation at www.DonateLifeToday.com. Mike was also involved for over a decade with Habitat For Humanity. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations sent to www.YakimaHabitat.org.
