I gave up the first love of my life shortly after graduation because I thought that I might of been missing out on something.
Within a year, my standards went almost as low as they possibly could when I wasted 5 years in an abusive and controlling relationship due to some self-esteem issues at the time. It was a learning experience, to say the least.
I then spent a few years trying to figure out who I was and enjoying many experiences that life has to offer with confidence. My dad, who became my best friend, was diagnosed with colon cancer. I ended up living with and helped to take care of him in his final years. My father passed away September 20, 1996, which was one of the most devastating experiences in my life.
I was alone, drinking a lot and clung on to the wrong guy for support. By the time I realized how wrong he was, I found out that I was pregnant from a broken condom (he did on purpose). In hopes of helping him to be a better person and wanting my daughter to grow up with her parents together, I planned to stick it out for awhile and then had my son. I then realized that my children didn't deserve to grow up around an unhealthy relationship. Their father has continued to put me through unbelievable hell, especially after leaving him back in 2001.
Two years ago, I was set up with a remarkable man by a mutual friend of ours, who passed away last year, who thought that we would make a perfect couple. He couldn't have been more right. I finally got my second chance at true love and couldn't ask for a better man. We knew that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together after only a few months. It was kind of funny, since niether one of us thought we would ever get married because we don't believe in divorce. We still have never even had an arguement and plan to get married August 29 of this year. I then found out on April 27th that I am now expecting a baby on Christmas Day and couldn't ask for a better gift. I have two beautiful children with one on the way to go with my Fairy Tale Relationship with no exaggeration.
