After graduating from Plant, I moved to the west coast to attend college at Stanford University in California (near San Francisco). At Stanford, I competed on the cross country and track teams, made some great friends, and majored in Human Biology. Stanford is an amazing place with incredible people and I loved it so much that I decided to stay another year for grad school where I received a Master's degree in Epidemiology. After grad school, I moved to San Francisco and started working in clincial research at University of California, San Francisco's Breast Cancer Center. After two years at UCSF, I took a position at Genentech - a biotechnology company that makes therapies for people with serious illnesses (breast cancer, colon cancer, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, just to name a few). I've worked in our Clinical Operations department helping to oversee our clinical trials for almost three years. I actually met my fiancee, Eric Almon, at Genentech - Eric works in Genentech's contracts group and he also attends law school. We are getting married in Napa Valley this July and will continue to live in San Francisco (for now). When not working, I spend my time running (I've run 6 marathons), doing yoga, drinking wine, trying new restaurants in San Francisco (there are so many!), and traveling as much as possible. That's the past ten years for me in a nutshell - I look forward to hearing what everyone else has been up to.
