Michael Morris

I moved to Atlanta in 1980 and finished High School there. I graduated from Vanderbilt Undergrad and Emory Business School. I started my career in New York City as a trader for Merrill Lynch, but moved back to Atlanta in 1988 and stayed there. I am divorced from a 15 year marriage and have 3 girls with my ex-wife. Since being in Atlanta, I founded a small Investment Banking/Brokerage firm which I ran for 10 years and sold. Then I help found a magazine called travelgirl, www.travelgirlinc.com I am still involved in day-to-day operations; however, I spend most of my time raising money for charities. I sit on about 10 charitable and foundation boards including the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC; CDC Foundation (Center for Disease Control located in Atlanta), the Georgia Aquarium and several Jewish related boards in Atlanta and Israel. I travel about 50% of the time including to Israel several times a year. Basically I raise money and give it away. Maybe a couple million a year on a good year. Last year... wasn't that good!
