Donald W. Bird, 79, of Tiffin, passed away at 4:05 p.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay.
Donald was born on August 13, 1939, in Tiffin, to the late Arthur and Eva (Bird) Lavo. He married Connie I. (Beck) in Tiffin and she survives.
Survivors include his two daughters, Deborah (Chadd) Haller of Knoxville, TN, Brandy Smith of Findlay, two granddaughters, Leah Conley and Wednesday Conley, a brother, David Lavo of Clearwater, FL, a sister, Barb (Frank) Kozak of Cedar Keys, FL, special friends, Tom Kiesel of Tiffin, Bob Runion of Tiffin, George Smith of Tiffin and Brenda (Alan) Harris of Bushnell, FL.
Donald retired from Tiffin Metal Products in maintenance and also was a driver for ICP. He was a former crossing guard and also rang the bell for Salvation Army. Donald was affiliated with New Beginnings Assembly of God Church, the Tiffin Moose Lodge and loved spending time with his granddaughters and attending their activities. Donald was an avid Michigan Fan and enjoyed bowling.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Anthony Kozak.
Funeral services for Donald will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, November 30, 2018, at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin with Pastor Rex King officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow services on Friday, at Fairmont cemetery.
