George Frederick 'Fred' Hepp

Fred was born July 6, 1941, in Tiffin, to the late Richard F. and Alora M. (Bruner) Hepp. He married Susette J. (Patterson) Hepp April 22, 1980, and she survives in Tiffin.

Additional survivors include four children, George F. (Doris) Hepp of Tampa, Florida, Michael D. (Marilee) Hepp of Westerville, Lisa A. (Pete) Spieldenner of Port Clinton and Stephanie S. (Jim Warren) Hepp of Tiffin; seven grandchildren, Cecilia, Jenna, Ashlee, Kaitlyn, Olivia, Spencer, and Lily; two great-grandchildren, Trenton and Emerson; two brothers, Glenn Thomas (Nina) Hepp of Paris, Tennessee and Richard F. (Joann) Hepp of Avon Lake; and a sister, Alora (Antonio J. Wilson) Daniels of Parma Heights.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Barbara Hepp; and his mother-in-law, Betty L. Patterson.


Fred was a 1959 graduate of Columbian High School, Tiffin. He had many jobs including G.E., real estate, landlord, police officer, and car salesman. He enjoyed old cars, motorcycles, playing poker, and golf. He also enjoyed his grandpuppies, Bilbo and Dexter, and, most importantly, spending time with his family and friends.


The funeral for Fred will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2020, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory, Tiffin with Pastor Charlene Thomas officiating.


Visitation for family and friends will also be Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Burial will follow the funeral on Friday at Mexico Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to St. Francis Home Chiara Unit and all of the nurses and staff that cared for Fred while he was there.
