Melvin H. Reedy

Melvin H. Reedy, 79, of Sacramento, California, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, at 1 a.m. at UC Davis, Sacramento. He died of COVID-19 complications due to heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

He was born Feb. 10, 1941, in Tiffin, the son of Everett Fleming and Virginia Hammond Reedy. His father died in an auto accident when he was two and a half years old. His mother later married Dalton B. Fuller.

Melvin was raised in Tiffin. He was a 1959 graduate of Columbian High School, Tiffin. He enlisted in the U.S. Army after high school and served in Europe, Vietnam and Panama, having served for 25 years.

He was a loving and caring family man.

He leaves behind a loving daughter, Grace of Sacramento, California; a daughter, Lena of Florida; a son, Marco of Sacramento; daughters, Anita Kirian and Sylvia Thompson both of Republic; and a son, Bill (Lisa) Reedy of Oak Harbor. He is also survived by several grandchildren; a sister, Ina Rae (Larry) Sager of Tiffin; a brother, Allen B. Fuller of Tiffin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jilma; a brother, Everett; and a sister, Deena Larick.
