Carl Assenheimer

Played basketball for 4 years at Bowling Green St. U.; majored in English and health and physical education; graduated in 1968 with B.S. in education;married in 1967 and wife Cheryl gave birth to son Christopher in 1968; taught h.s. English and was head basketball coach and asst. football coach for three years at Gibsonburg H.S.; moved to Bay Village in 1971 and taught h.s. English for 28 years. Coached football for 20yrs.; coached basketball for 15 yrs.; coached track for 5 yrs.; Masters Degree in English;coached football for Lakewood St. Edward for 6 yrs.; coached football for Avon Lake for 1 yr. Married to Sue in 1990; retired to Cocoa, Fla. in 1998; moved back to Tiffin in 2006; moved to Vermilion in 2010; moved to Florida in 2016

Noble Elementary-played Santa Claus in Christmas play-came on stage late, and left early (scared to death); played piano at talent show; sang "Mother" at talent show with Sue Bowersox-actually Sue sang and I stood and froze-again; Patrol boy and got punched in the stomach by Janny Lampe-quit being a patrol boy; West Jr. High-always in trouble-spent most of my time out in the hall; got beat up by Florence Heckman; Columbian High-Loved Ruthie Dietzel, Gene Foster, sports and classmates-best class ever.
