After graduating from Topeka High School, Larry graduated from Washburn University in 1968, and obtained a Master's Degree in Education in 1975.
He taught at Monroe and Linn Elementary Schools, and was principal of Pleasant Hill/Capital View Elementary School in the Seaman School District. He later was employed by Kirk & Cobb Realty and taught licensure classes for the Kansas Association of Realtors.
He is survived by six children and a sister, Linda Groves, Hutchinson.
