Mary was married to Ernest Kutzley in July, 1970. She later married Dennis Mayday in June 1981.
She was an elementary school teacher at Rice, State Street and Highland Park North Elementary schools in Topeka. She received a Master's Degree in Education for Washburn University. She taught for 23 years.
A member of Trinity Lutheran Church, she is survived by her parents and a sister.
Mary is buried at West Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Topeka. Contirbutions in her honor were requested for the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association, Keith Worthington Chapter, Prairie Village, Kansas.
