Died: July 21, 1970, Kansas City, Kansas

Charles Thomas Deitrick died as the result of a fall from a 40-foot antenna tower at his home in Topeka.  He was a ham radio operator and had just installed a new apparatus on the top of the tower before he fell, striking a guy wire on the way down.  He died at the KU Med Center.

He had been a television repairman in Topeka, as well as a firefighter for two years with the Topeka Fire Dept.  He was working for International Business Machines at the time of his death.

He was a member of the 109th General Hospital Army Reserve Unit in Topeka.  He was also a member of Second Presbyterian Church, AF&AM, Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, the Kaw Valley Ham Radio Club, the Volunteer Emergency Service Team, and the IBM Club.

He was married to Janice Alexander in 1966.  She survives, along with a daughter, his parents, and three sisters.

He was buried at Mount Hope Cemetery.
