Frank Carl Olander

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Funeral Home for Frank Carl Olander, 51, Littleton, Colo., formerly of Topeka, who died Jan. 8, 1996, at home.  He had a heart attack.

He was born March 2, 1946, in Topeka, the son of Eugene and Mildred Martin Olander.  He spent his early life in Topeka where he attended Polk Elementary and Crane Junior High schools and was graduated from Topeka High School.  He attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence where he received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a master’s degree in business administration.

He was a certified public accountant and a certified financial planner.  He was a revenue agent for the Internal Revenue Service in Denver and earlier worked in strategic planning for the Gates Rubber Co. international Division in Denver.  He lived in Denver and Littleton more than 20 years. 

He was a member of St. Philip Lutheran Church in Littleton, Colo., the finance committee at the church and Alpha Kappa Lambda fraternity at the University of Kansas.

He was married to Karen K. Gabe Nov. 29, 1986, in Topeka.  She survives.

Brothers, Gene Olander, Topeka, and Tom Olander, Denver, also survive.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Serving Kids from the Inside Out organization through the Lutheran Foundation or to the organization of the donor’s choice.
