Alan C. Henderson

Alan C. Henderson, 69, died March 4, 2016 from complications of heart disease.

He was born in Lawrence, KS on November 5, 1946 to Fred & Mary (Singleton) Henderson. Al grew up in Topeka, KS, graduating from Topeka High School and Washburn University.

He married Maureen Gampper on August 1, 1970, and they raised two daughters, Erin & Sarah. The family relocated to Lenexa, KS in 1986 where Al continued his career designing and managing of clinical laboratories in the greater KC area.

He is survived by his wife, Maureen, of 46 years, his daughters, Erin (Shawn) McMahon and Sarah (Aaron) North, and beloved grandsons, Oliver (9), Jack (4) and Henderson (due in July); his sister, Ketta Mulford; mother-in-law, Margaret Gampper; brothers-in-law, Tom, Rick and Michael Gampper.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 9th at 10 a.m. at Cure of Ars Catholic Church (Prairie Village, KS) with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. A luncheon will be served after the Mass at the Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to CAMP ENCOURAGE (4025 Central, Kansas City, MO), an organization providing summer camp experiences to children on the autism spectrum.
