Albert M. Kearse

Albert Major Thomas Kearse, 73, formerly of Topeka, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019 in Glenn Heights, Texas. He was born in Topeka, Kansas on February 2, 1946 to Albert Thomas and Opal Eddington and later adopted by George Kearse.
A beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, Albert Kearse.
Albert graduated from Topeka High School. After high school he attended Washburn University for one year where he majored in Science. In 1965 he entered the United States Army (Green Beret) and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He reached the rank of Specialist Five Albert M.T. Kearse and received The Army Commendation Medal. He was honorably discharged on April 24, 1972.
Albert worked as an electrician and was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 224 and 226.
Albert grew up on the East side of Topeka and as a child he accepted Christ and attended Church of the Living God, Pillar and Ground of Truth. His aunt, Lulu May Brown was the pastor. In 1998 he relocated to San Antonio, Texas and in 2016 he relocated to the Dallas area and made his residency in the suburb of Glen Heights, Texas. After relocating to Texas, he attended Cliff View Church of Christ, Dallas, Texas.
While living in Texas, Albert loved to do yard work and won the 2018 neighborhood association most beautiful yard award.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Opal Eddington; fathers, George A. Kearse and Albert Thomas, second wife and the love of his life, Judy Harris and one brother, Joe Thomas.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter with Agnes Wonzer Adeboye, Kimberly Diane (Robert) Lane of Concord, NC.; three grandsons, Khadre A. Lane, Jordan A. Lane, and Avin M. Lane and one granddaughter, Aria Jolie Lane (grandpa’s Little Mermaid) all of Concord, NC.; three brothers, Macio (Bo) Thomas, Duane P. Kearse and George Kearse; six sister’s, Liz Thomas, Bonnie Thomas, Teresa Thomas, Glenda Wake, Carolyn Kearse and Latricia A. Kearse; three generations of nieces and nephews; first wife, Agnes Wonzer Adeboye, best friend, Dorothy Lee; stepchildren, Ike Lee, Ethelene and Whyiley Harris and step-grandchildren, Marquise

Yes being a Green Beret is an honor in itself.  Our class should all be very proud of our classmates who served in the military.  A lot were in the Vietnam Era.
