Obituary

Chester Ardell Kyser, Jr. Chester Ardell Kyser, Jr., 70, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2016, at his home. He had spent that day and evening celebrating a special Christmas with his family. Ardell was born on July 2, 1946, the son of Chester and Helen Douglass Kyser. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1964, and attended Washburn University. He was then very proud to be a Seabee in the US Navy. On April 6, 1968, he married his high school sweetheart, Linda Musick. She survives. After his time in the service he was a welder for over 30 years, retiring for health reasons. Ardell was also a Shawnee County Master Hunter Safety Instructor for over 30 years. During those years, he held many offices and taught countless young people about the ethics of gun and archery safety. He also really enjoyed the friendship of his fellow instructors. A highlight of one of Ardell s personal hunting trips was going to Canada with his brother-in-law, Gary Collins, and getting a bear with his bow. Other survivors include their wonderful daughters, Kristin Ingwerson (Gene), Topeka and Megan Norris (David), Wichita; his five treasured grandchildren, Ashley, Austin and Jarrett Ingwerson, and Jacob and Adelle Norris; sisters, Esther Collins, Omaha, NE and Evelyn DeHart, Loveland, CO; and several nieces and nephews. Ardell also had very fond memories of his uncles, aunts and cousins in Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Calvin Kyser. Per his wishes, no service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st Street, Topeka KS 66604. His family is truly grateful to his many fine doctors and their staffs. Ardell will always be remembered for his devotion to his family, friends and his dogs, his love for Texas and his quick smile. Condolences may be sent online to www.kevinbrennanfamily.com.
