Jean L. Myers, 77, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023 in Lawrence, Kansas.

She was born May 25, 1946, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Howard and Blanche (Elder) Taylor.

She received a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Baker University in 1969. She was a US Army veteran with rank of 2nd Lieutenant.

In the late 1970s, she worked at the Shawnee County Clerk of the District Court Office where she remained until 1996. In 1996, she went to work for Shawnee County serving in the elections office and motor vehicle department. In 1997, she worked as the deputy clerk with the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office, retiring in 2014.

After retiring, she volunteered at St. Francis Hospital in the gift shop. Jean was an avid sports fan. She loved those Jayhawks!

On October 20, 1979, she married Robert Kendall Myers in Newton, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 1991.

Survivors include two siblings, Judith Anne Grant and Gerald (Sylvia) Taylor; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be 11am Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka.
