Richard Huse McEntire

Richard Huse McEntire, fondly known as Mac to his family and friends, passed away on October 31, 2013. He was born November 9, 1946 in Topeka, the son of Donald and Maxine Huse McEntire. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1964. Richard joined the Navy in 1966 and served honorably until 1972. Upon his discharge from the Navy, Mac continued his service to his community at the Shawnee County Sheriff s office. He served in many positions during his 27 years of service and retired at the rank of Sergeant in 1997. He was a member of the American Legion and FOP Lodge #3. Richard married Cheryl Moulin on December 2, 1972 at Osage City, Kansas. Survivors include Cheryl McEntire; two sons, Mathew (Lisa) McEntire of Medford, OR, Scott (Debbie) McEntire of Topeka, KS; 5 grandchildren, Jacob, Dalton, Caleb, Tyler and Kali; and his brother, David McEntire. Mac was a loving husband, dedicated father and loyal friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Mac was cremated and a memorial celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
