Caleb J. "Jim" Cochran Caleb J. "Jim" Cochran, 71, Topeka, passed away Friday, April 6, 2018.

 


Jim was born April 10, 1946 in Topeka, the son of Cal and Marvel (Hays) Cochran. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1964 and Washburn University with degrees in Mental Health and Business.

He was employed as a Special Investigator with the State of Kansas, retiring in 2009 after 30+ years of service.

He was a founding member of the Topeka Wilderness Society and was an avid outdoorsman, Fly fisherman, backpacker, hiker and loved going to National Parks in the American West.

Jim married LeAnn M. Weigel on September 26, 2009 in Las Vegas, NV. at the Little Church of the West. She survives. Other survivors include his son, Garrett Cochran, Topeka. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Thomas Cochran.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Dove Cremations & Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
