Livia E Perlaky, 72, of Topeka died on July 19, 2018. She was born on April 28, 1946, in Budapest, Hungary. In 1956, during the Hungarian Revolution, Lilly and her parents, Charles and Livia Perlaky, crossed the border and made their way to America. They were sponsored by the Trinity Lutheran Church in Topeka, Kansas.
Lilly attended Crane Jr High, Topeka High School ('64), and the University of Kansas. She became a librarian at the Topeka Public Library and later at KU until she retired. Lilly loved art and tennis and having fun with friends.
I remember Lilly at THS, but more recently Lilly and I played tennis together. She had a wicked backhand and she was left-handed which is a good weapon in tennis. She was a wonderful friend, and I will miss her.

I remember when Lily first joined our 5th grade class at Polk Elementary fresh from Hungary. My she caught on quickly, always had a great smile!
