Rosemary Medrano

Rose Mary Medrano was ready to meet Jesus on June 9, 2022. She was the daughter of Narcisa (Pearl) Medrano-Lopez and Melchor V. Medrano. Rose Mary was born on February 20, 1946 in Kansas City, Kansas.

She is survived by her children, Miguel Pagán (Andrea), Isaac Pagán (Andrea), and Melissa Perez (Ricardo). Grandchildren are Alexis DeLeon, Danielle Gutierrez (Jesse), Joshua Pagán (Maddie), Rosalise, Conrad, and Diego Perez. Great grandchildren are Jesse Jr., Jordan, Maricela, Mariah, Emmie, Emzie Gutierrez and Malakai Pagán.

Surviving siblings are Anna Marie Chavez (John), Arthur Soto (Elvira), Stella Alejos (Frank-deceased), Sally Medrano Coffelt, Patti Caldarulo (Mark), Joe Medrano (Vivian Ramirez), and John (Sam) Medrano (Lucinda). Rose Mary was preceded in death by her brother Melchor S. Medrano and sister Frances Wallace. She had many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Rose Mary was raised in the Oakland Nazarene Church, was a member of House of the Lord Church for many years, and since 1997, was a member of Light of the World Christian Center.

Topeka High School was where she graduated in 1964 and in 1966 she received a LPN license. She also graduated from Clark’s School of Business in 1979 and later in life attended Allen County Community College earning credits towards an Associate’s Degree.

Rose Mary was the Charter President of her neighborhood, Valley Park. She was President of the Red Hat society, and from this came her love of hats. She was also a member of the Shepherd’s Center of Topeka.

Rose Mary was employed by Stormont Vail Hospital, the State of Kansas, Department of the Army, and retired from the Veterans of America Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. After retirement, she worked part time as a Legal Assistant for a local attorney and a Legislator Office Assistant.

Her passions were spending time with her family, visiting friends, gardening, cooking, and making crafts. She had even started her own YouTube channel. In recent years, she had become a very talented self-taught painter and sketch artist.

A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Friday June 24, 2022 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Her Celebration of Life will be on Saturday June 25, 2022 at 11:00am at Light of the World Christian Center. (Luncheon will follow)

Rose Mary loved God, loved her family, and lived a very blessed life.
