James Joseph Johnson


James Joseph Johnson born November 6, 1945 to Richard D. and Marguerite 
Mae Saunders Johnson died January 29, 2014.

Before earning a Criminal Justice degree at Washburn University, he 
worked for the Santa Fe Railway. Also, for the Shawnee County Sheriff’s 
Office and retired from the State of Kansas Correctional Facility. He 
served in the Army National Guard at Fort Rucker, Alabama. He enjoyed 
going to car races and collecting guns.

He is survived by his wife Patsy, son James Ryan, a brother Richard W., a
 sister Doris Dressman, and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded 
in death by two sisters, Betty Johnson and Patricia Carrano.

The family will greet friends from 2:00-4:00p.m., Sunday, February 2 at 
the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Inurnment 
will follow at a later date.
