Hi all ---

As near as I can tell, we have 5 years to wait until the 50th, which may be a stretch for some of us. Summer will be here soon and it sure would be nice to see all of you while you're still able to hold a beer mug or cocktail glass.

Now, I realize that this takes some of the glamour out of the shindig that we'll have in 2014, but as Carlene said in the song, "another five years is too long to wait".

Doesn't have to be big or fancy - just dinner abd drinks somewhere.

Linda:

Thank you for being so active in keeping the THS Class of 1964 connected. I agree with Michael, we should have another 1964 reunion. The last one was great. Would not mind going back to Lake George!!! Anything I can do to help, please let me know.

Our class will be having an activity at Grafton State Park on Saturday, August 22nd. Please make sure that I have your current e-mail address so that I can send you details as they become available. (If you didn't get an e-mail with this information above, it means that I don't have a good address for you.)

The best way to help right now is to offer to call some classmates and find out current e-mail addresses. You can pick out your friends and call as many or as few as you would like. I do have many phone numbers.

Memory Walk with Assistance Needed -

Bus Trip to Stratford, CT. to see King Lear - English class rode trip - Jr. Year

The memory of some of this is clear--a very long bus ride, dinner at a large restaurant ? name.
I do remember the play, I did stay awake,
Sitting next to my friend Karen Wright on the bus ride back and talking to Jim Herrod and Rick Snyder (two former School 14 classmates) who were sitting behind us.

What else happened on that trip? Does any one have a story?

Carolyn,
I remember the trip - vaguely. I remember sitting in what seemed to be a very large and dark theater. The restaurant may have been Patricia Murphys. I don't where I pulled that name from but that is what came out of my head. I remember this as also being huge whatever its name.

I enjoyed an outdoor performance of King Lear last summer. I'm sure I understood and appreciated this second performance much more, but maybe the first show helped to warm me up to the whole theater scene. I'm an avid theater goer these days.

Well I and the family survived this most recent Christmas(Xmas to the PC's out there) with a most modest financial burden because with time we are learning that it is not the many gifts that are bought and then returned that count but Christmas is all about family, friends and giving thanks for what you've got. I have been preaching that for years and the ladies in my family are gradually seeing my point. As an added bonus there will not be any large credit card bills in January either! Speaking of Christmas and PC's, this country needs to lighten up. We take ourselves way too seriously. We need to get back to the "All in the Family" era when we could laugh at ourselves but still learn a lesson from each episode. Sorry, I am getting carried away. I hope everyone is doing well and yes I am still working at Verizon with retirement on the near horizon. Forty plus years is enough. It is time to walk the dog more and bet some horses! Hey, anyone got a hot one? Bob Ishkanian
