Hello old friends and classmates. This is the first time I've actually written something on this website. I am so happy to be back in Tucson after traversing the country for 18 years. I fired my husband in 2008 and came HOME. I have been busy teaching since 1985 and participating in triathlon and running events of all distances. I am still racing competitively. My greatest irony in life was that I couldn't run with 2 legs, and now I can do whatever I want with 1! Many of you know I struggled with cancer from age 10. My leg was finally amputated in 1983. 3 years later I lost my left lung. I thought that was it.....my odds flipped from 90% chance of survival to 10. But here I am! I happily carry with me that obligation of the cured -- a drive that pushes through races, squeezing every moment of joy, pain, and accomplishment that I can -- and it's for those who didn't make it.
I haven't made it to a reunion yet. Hopefully I will make it to the next one!
