School Story:
I went to Wells Elementary School in Illinois from first through eight grades, when my family moved to Tucson, AZ. It was a small school where two classes were taught in each room.
In Tucson, AZ, I attended Catalina Jr. High for one year before transferring to Tucson Sr. High now Tucson Magnet High. After graduation I enlisted in the US Navy & was trained as an Aviation Electronics Technician. I was stationed at Alameda, CA completing two squadron deployments to Alaska & Japan for 7 months & discharged in 1959. I married a girl that I met in San Francisco & we have 2 daughters. I remarried in 1984 while I was employed at the Naval Air Rework Facility in Alameda, CA. In 1988 I took the opportunity to retire early and started a mobile screening franchise. We sold the business in 2003 & moved to Colorado to assist my wife’s parents who had health problems. We bought their house from their estate & have been remodeling & updating it since.
I raised, trained & exhibited Dobermann Pinschers from 1966 until 1980 when I got my AKC judging license. In the early 1980s my wife & I discovered an interest in Avocational Archaeology (Rock Art in particular). We spend much of our free time researching Rock Art locations then documenting sites. We have visited over 900 sites (to date) and both Laurie & I have been officers in the Colorado Archaeology Society where we participate in field trips & community outreach programs. This leaves little time for dog shows.
We travel between 45 & 60 days a year documenting rock art sites in most of the Western States. This requires driving off-road until we run out of two-track then we hike. We have made backpacked trips into sites inaccessible to vehicles since 2003.
We won’t be at the reunion this year due to prior commitments. I hope everyone has a great time
