Libby Brophy told me about this site when I ran into her at a function for our kids last weekend. She had been hanging out with my wife and son one day a week for the past year or so…..and I had no clue…..
After graduation I spent three semesters at OU then decided to join the Air Force. During four years of active duty I was stationed in Korea, Utah, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia. After four years of fun in the military it was time to use the GI bill to finish my degrees. I returned to Tulsa in 1996, met my wife Stephanie, joined the Air National Guard, and planned to attend UCT but eventually found myself at OSU in Stillwater in order to get the classes I needed. After one enlistment I found college was a breeze in comparison and graduated in May 1999 with degrees in Mathematics and Finance. Stephanie and I were married in June and I went to work for an accounting software company in Tulsa. It was later purchased by Inuit and I had the opportunity to move to Dallas or Virginia but decided to stay in Tulsa instead. I sold insurance for a couple years and then worked in telecommunications for a few years. Along the way I decided to get out of the Air Guard. Eventually I decided what I wanted to be when I grew up and took a job as a project manager for a tank (crude, oil, gas, chemical, etc.) construction and repair company. It is very rewarding and requires a lot of travel. These days I’m either busy with work, family, or both but wouldn’t have it any other way.
I knew about the ten year reunion but had made other plans to get married that weekend. My parents since moved so I didn’t know about the twenty year reunion until I ran into Libby. I hope to make the next one.
