Kari, age 35, was born November 15, 1965 in Wichita, KS. Our beloved Kari went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday morning, September 1, 2001 after a long battle with breast cancer. Kari is the wife of Addison Bernard Smith Jr. and the mother of 3-year old Alexis Aubree Smith and 22-month old Addison Bernard Smith III. After graduating from Northeastern State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, Kari taught second grade at Lakewood Elementary School in Houston, TX. She married Bernard Smith on August 26, 1995 in Austin, TX. Kari taught one year at Barton Creek Elementary and 2 years at Bridge Point Elementary in Austin, TX. After the birth of their first child, Kari retired from teaching to fulfill her dream of raising her children; however, God had special plans and called her home.
