I have very fond memories of Becky. During our junior high years, there was open pasture between our houses; she was an animal lover and had a horse (which I was envious of). A few times she rode her horse to my house, I hopped on, and we went back to her house to do whatever we had planned.
Her life was cut way too short by a tragic accident; I understand she had stopped to help an injured animal on the side of a highway and got struck by another vehicle.
Rebecca Lou Mauney (Beddingfeld) passed in December, 1964. A week after being hit by a truck while trying to rescue a dog that was injured in the road. She was a wonderful friend in high school and after.
