TUSCALOOSA - Susan Carter Dickey, age 66, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 26, 2018. Visitation will be Sunday, April 29, 2018, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel from 5 - 7 p.m. Funeral service will be on Monday, April 30, 2018, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel at 1 p.m.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Betty Carter.
Survivors include her husband, James "Jim" Dickey and her son, Matthew Kotelnikov Dickey; her stepdaughter, Sonja Dickey Kerr (Ben); sister, Judy Carter; aunts, Eula Shannon and Connie Pike; numerous cousins; and four grandchildren: Gracie, Millie, Poppy and Jonah Kerr.
Susan was a devoted librarian at Walker Elementary School for many years. She retired in 2016.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Dickey, Nicholas Dickey, John Dickey, Austin Rasco, Cortez Tabb and Chad Stone.
Honorary pallbearers are members of the LaJune Gartman Sunday School class of Holt Baptist Church, members of Holt Baptist Church, doctors and TSICU nurses of DCH and faculty/staff of Walker Elementary School.
