Mary Lyn Pike

I have worked in law, continuing education and mental health, primarily as an association executive, with a detour into law practice and financial services over the last few years. I was prematurely retired during the 2008 crash and have returned to Alabama from Denver and live with my mother in her post-tornado house in Northport.

Have sung with choral groups in most of the cities I have lived in: Huntsville, Montgomery, Washington, DC, and Denver. Before the move back from Denver, I was a member of The Spirituals Project, a choir dedicated to the preservation and performance of African-American spirituals. Joined the Prentice Concert Chorale in January 2014. Joined the Christ Episcopal Church choir in 2015 and enjoy the fellowship and leadership in worship.

Much of my time was spent on the road with the Wee Folk, culminating in a trip to upstate New York to perform on two college campuses. Debbie Watson, Carolyn Boyd, Kay Finney and I have not sung together in years but I guarantee we could hit the first note of our opening song with only a chord from Debbie.

Other highlights were the many road trips to football games with Debbie Lambert, Karen Gorday, Brenda Wyatt, Donna Rickett, Sandy Flowers and others, I am sure. Ginny Kuhns and Jeannie Cleino traveled as cheerleaders and Debbie Watson was in the band.

I also enjoyed my time as the news editor of the Bear Facts, working with WWW, Sandy Flowers, Bruce Raymon, Crosby Thomley, Craig Williams, Mark White and others. Can't believe we used to literally cut and paste the pages!
