’65 turns 70

Dear Classmates,

Your UA Core Committee is sending this note to gauge interest in a 70th Birthday Bash to coincide with the UA Alumni Association’s Fourth of July Alumni Day, Sunday, July 2.

The Alumni Day will be held at UAHS, 1650 Ridgeview Road from Noon to 4 pm. Awards will be presented to classes celebrating their reunions this year and to distinguished and outstanding alumni, as well as guest appearances by former teachers and administrators.  You can shop in the Bear Essential School Store as well as take guided tours and visit displays of UA memorabilia.  There will be food and refreshments in the cafeteria or from food trucks in the parking lot.  We also hear there may be a UA alumni softball game on the school premises.  There is something for everyone!

Following the events at UAHS, our Birthday Bash will be held at Carsonie’s Stromboli and Pizza Kitchen, 1725 West Lane Avenue from 4:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.  We need a minimum of 50 persons (including spouses) in order to hold this event.  The cost will be around $15 - $20 per person with a cash bar.  Tentatively, the buffet will include Stromboli, pasta, salad, and chicken wings.  Vegan or vegetarian can be accommodated.

Since it is almost certain that a new high school will be built in the near future, this would be a good opportunity for many of us to see the changes that have been made over the years, including the natatorium that we never saw completed (but endured the building process).  Many of us toured after our 50th reunion, and it really is a worthwhile experience.

Please let us know if you are planning to attend our 70th Birthday Bash at Carsonie’s by emailing us at by March 31st.  For full details on the UA Alumni Day, see

It will be great to see you on the 4th!
