Karel always had a smile on her face. Although we weren't bffs she brought her smile to me while I was at Riverside Methodist Hospital after knee surgery. Such a wonderful smile to see, waking up from a morphine sleep. RIP, Karel. You are missed.
Karel and I met in the first grade. We had Mrs. Culter. We sat nex to each other and became friends. I am saddened to learn of her passing of Covid-19. She was a kind, warm person who never really complained about anything. RIP Karel.
I didn't know Karel well in high school having only been there one year but we became good friends when we began sharing nieces and nephews as a result of family marriages Karel had a quick wit and a vivacious personality. She could trade barbs with the best of them but always with a smile. She was an early Micro Center executive and was exceptionally helpful in building that business. She was a staunch patriot and had a great love of the country and her family. Her marriage to Mike Barney was a dream come true and provided great joy in her life. A loyal and true friend, she will be missed.
Karel and I were good buddies in high school and remained so during college. We reconnected when she was a buyer at Chicago's Carson Pirie Scott Department Store. I was job hunting and planning a move to Chicago which I subsequently did. Karel was a friend and comrade in a new city and helped with my transition there. She was fun and quick witted and will be missed by so many. Rest in peace, my friend.
Karel was such a kind friend. I can remeber her voice and her laughter and her loving nature. I am so sorry to learn of her passing from complications of the virus.
