Bill loved working on the reunions and birthday parties! We built more than 1 float in his driveway so that he could watch over his daughter Cassie. If you remember the hugh BEAR on the 20th--- that was from his driveway and inspired by a few-- don't remember how many-- bottles of beer. He had so much fun we did it again for the 40th birthday party-- and he drove the truck. I relly think that was the start of UA's crackdown on open container in the parade!
Bill-- we will think of you on the float this time.

A very kind young man who lived about three blocks away from us on the border of Arlington and Grandview. I remember that in 8th Grade we were taking speech together and gave a two-person presentation about the art of yo-yo's. Remember when they were popular and the Arlington drugstore used to have contests? Well, I decided to talk poor Bill into a speech about  yo-yo's one day - Bill's presentation was perfect in all regards. My Duncan yo-yo had a mind all its own and, when I "walked the dog," it just walked away, out the door, and down the hall. I was amazed. Bill was cool under pressure - he asked the teacher for a hall pass for my yo-yo.......We got an "A" on that baby. Wish that I had taken the time to get to know him better in later years! Rlg

Bill and I, along with a boatload of others, had study hall each day in Room 110 - which was the equivalent of two classrooms. Anyhoo - Bill would sit in the back of the room and croak like a frog. You couldn't help but laugh, and he knew he was entertaining the whole room - which spurred him on. If he wasn't doing that, he'd give me the sign to start with the gum-cracking. I'd crack, he'd crack -- sounded like a ping-pong match. Weren't study halls great?!

Bill was a great guy, not only as a classmate, but as an adult friend.
