Went to Mississippi State, graduated in Aerospace Engineering in 1968 (on an AF scholarship). Was in graduate school until 1970. The USAF called me up and I wen to Maine for a year then to Thule AFB, Greenland for 1 year then to Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio for 4 years. I then got out and went to Medical School (started at U. of Miss. Medical school in Jackson for 1 year then transferred to Wright State U. SOM beginning my sophmore year) and graduated in 1980. I did a Pediatrics Residency in Dayton, finishing in 1983. My wife completed her surgery residency in Dayton and was on staff at WPAFB while I completed my residency.
The Air Force then gave us a choice of being stationed in Minot, North Dakota or Mountain Home AFB in Idaho. Chose Mountain Home (did not know that the original name was Rattlesnake Junction). It was, however, a good assignment.
I left the AF in 1987 and we moved to Boise, Idaho where we have lived since. Renee has her surgical practice and I still practice Pediatrics.
