Elaina Evans (Gallagher)

I don't think I will be making the reunion this year folks! It would have been my first and I was very excited about the possibility.

My sister (from Limestone) was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma Brain Tumor last month and is now living with me while going through her treatments as Mass General in Boston.

She is in a 58 week clinical trial.

Hope you all have fun and please think of me!

Elaina (yes, I changed my name from Elaine).

Elaina,
I'm sad to hear that. Your sister is lucky to have you by her side. I hope everything goes well with the treatments...I will be praying for her. Take care!!

I found Tim Bouchard! He lives in Creighton PA. I will try calling him today and tell him about our website and the reunion. Hopefully I can get him to log on and tells us what he has been up to.

You will not believe what happened on Wednesday. Around 2:30 in the afternoon I had a young girl walk into my store who I knew had better have an id if she expected to buy anything. I was watching her as best I could, but there was a display blocking my view. She went back down the isle and up the middle isle and walked out the door. There were a couple of merchandisers in the store at the time who told me they thought she may have stollen a bottle. I reviewed the surveylence tape and saw she had indeed taken a bottle. Now here is the unbelievable part, as the two men were leaving they saw her in the parking lot with a couple of friends walking back towards the store! I bolted out the door and approached her and told her to get back in the store. I made her sit in a chair and wait for the police to arrive. She was only 16, and apparently her mom is going thru AA, and recovering from a stroke. That totally ruined my day!Seeing a young girl throw her future away like that. I am hoping that having her arrested will put the fear of God into her and keep her from shoplifting in the future. I also hope she rethinks the alcohol thing. I watch too many decent folks throw their lives away with booze.

you are amazing and hopefully having someone pray for her will help with the outcome and the future.

I must admit that I have been remiss in paying closer attention to the group postings here (go figure). I am SO glad that some folks are at least using it to stay up to date.
Tim, Sorry I missed you while you were here bud. That Uncle of mine has had me travelling alot lately.
Tammy, Good Job. I know it's tough sometimes and you feel for the kids, but evey once and awhile, it only takes that one time to set them back straight again. I had a trouble maker in school a few years ago that once I paid attention, took him under my wing a bit, he turned out to be a good kid (and a good soldier after he joined). Structure is good.
Tracey, a belated congrats
I'll try to do better
Elaina - PLEASE try. You'll be missed if you're not there. I know it's probably hard, but we'd all love to see you again (I still have a lap you can sit on :))

We finally have all of our babies! All fences, pens feeding equipment etc.... are in repair and now we can relax a bit. The spring is a busy time of year for us. Trying to locate the animals, buying them, getting them either delivered or picked up, and getting feed for everyone. We have this year 3 steer, 6 pigs, and 10 turkeys. The biggest challenge for me so far this year has been my little filley. She is suffering an ongoing case of severe diarreah and I have had not luck with any of the suggestions the vets have given me. She has lost 20lbs in about a month, huge for a mini baby who is still growing! I am going to insist a vet come out this week! No more phone tips. I could not bare loosing her, and her mom would become severly depressed if we did as well.

School is going extremely well. I am surprised how well I am doing after so many years out of school. I currently am maintaining a 94 average. I am loving it, but it too is keeping me on the go. I can't wait for the reunion. I need a break and what better way to spend it than with old friends! It's going to be great!

Well everyone, only about 1 month before we are all together again! I have some news first. I'll shock everone now instead of then. After 24 years of marriage John and I are getting divorced. It was under mutual agreement and the best thing for both of us. After Haley moved out we realized we didn't really know each other anymore and had gone in different direction. We have different interests and different plans. All is OK. We'll remain friends and things are going along smoothly. Prayers will help and seeing you all will too!! Love you all. See you soon. JONI (going back to Bartley)

Sorry to hear that Joni. It's great that you & John can remain friends @ least for the sake of Haley. A lot of people get divorced after their children leave home, maybe for the same reason... My mother-in-law did the same thing after 20 plus years of marriage. Be strong & keep your head up. Things happen for a reason...at least I keep telling myself that. I believe I'm going thru a mid-life crisis right now. I started Nursing school & dropped out in the middle of the semester. I'm 42 & still don't know what I want to do. I was thinking about Physical Therapy...Nursing????? I don't think I'd be a good nurse, was thinking about how queezy I get when I see open wounds. There's just no jobs out there...even for me w/a Bachelor's Degree in Business Mgt. What's wrong w/me??? Enough of me...I'll survive somehow. Can't wait to see you! I'll be praying for your family. Take care...c-ya soon!!!!

There's NOTHING wrong with you, it's the country/economy. And maybe a little to do with our age. Like you said, things happen for reason and it will work out for you! Maybe doing something "simple" would be good for awhile. Managing a store of some kind, or going to school to be a medical Assistant like me. Much less involved than nursing school although I see my share of wounds, blood and other bodily things. But it busy and rewarding. Anyway, stp beating yourself up !! That's an order. Can't wait to you in about a month. Love, JONI

Thanks Joni...I just want to go back to work. I loved my job & was so depressed when they closed back in August '08. I'm not used to being out of work, it really sucks! I'm trying to be positive though. Looking forward to seeing everyone @ the reunion. I was thinking back to the time we went to Canada & had a blast! Too bad we need passports now to cross over to Canada. Lots of memories there. :) Take care!

My baby sister, Robin, is going thru some really tough times right now. Her husband Mark was just recently diagnosed with stage four cancer. He has opted to try radiation and chemo to buy himself some more time with his family. I wish I lived closer to her so I could be there for her. She is so scared about how she is going to say goodbye and about the future without him, but keeps up a good front to everyone that she is doing fine. The pain and fear in her eyes broke my heart this past week when I took our mom up to see them. Please pray for them!

HI!! Tracy---I can totally relate to what you are going through--I don't know what I want to do when I grow up!!!??? I love serving at Chili's because I don't bring stress home and being w/the young kids I work w/makes me feel good. Tom keeps telling me to get a real job but I don't know what I want to do. As long as my body holds out I am having a really good time for now!! The flexibility in my schedule keeps me from missing anything Michelle is doing and the money is really pretty good. I might try to get a real job in Nov. when Michelle has her liscence(? spelling) and can start driving herself everywhere. Can't wait to see all of you!!!
