Mike Howland sat behind me in 10th grade Biology class. I found this 1998 obituary on his www.findagrave.com memorial; burial was at Pine Rest Cemetery in Foley, Alabama:
"Michael Meigs Howland, a native of Winnetka, Ill., and a longtime resident of Pensacola and South Baldwin County, died Friday, May 8,1998, at a Pensacola health-care facility. He was 46.
Howland was a graduate of Drake University where he studied journalism and was a member of Phi Delta Theta.
He is survived by his mother, Kathryn Meigs Howland of Magnolia Springs; one daughter, Tiffany Kathryn Howland of Pensacola; and one brother, Mark Howland of Gulf Shores.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Magnolia Springs. The Rev. Hoyt Massey will officiate.
The family suggests that memorials be made to St. Paul's Chapel, P.O. Box 2, Magnolia Springs.
