So in all my years at Cheltenham High, I never met Jeff.  I'm hoping that one of Jeff's good friends from high school will add something about Jeff during those years.   

Defying any explanation, Penn State decided to place 3 Cheltenham grads from the class of '77 in the same dorm room our freshman year: Jeff, Bill Lutz and me.   Jeff and I lived together our freshman year and again our junior year in a house with fellow grads Phil Sellick and Frank Baseman.  So I got to know Jeff pretty well over those years.

Jeff was one of, if not the most intelligent persons I've ever met.  He had a memory second to none.  Jeff majored in biochemistry at Penn State and if he didn't get straight A's, it was close.  Jeff went on to get his Masters at UVA and was working on his Phd at the University of Cincinatti when cancer struck.  He was awarded his doctorate degree posthumously and a scholorship has been established at U of C in Jeff's name.  At Cincinatti, Jeff was engaged in "recombinant DNA research" whatever that is.

Jeff was not out-going, but once you got to know him, you quickly found out how funny he could be.  

Jeff met the love of his life at Penn State, Camille.  They met maybe the first week of school, and were together all four years and beyond. 

Jeff loved music, especially progressive jazz.  Stanley Clarke, Jon-Luc Ponty.  Jeff did not really care for the Philly Folk Fest music I was listening to at the time, or Camille's country rock and bluegrass, what Jeff called "horse ridin' music."  He could tolerate the Outlaws and the Marshall Tucker Band, I think.

Jeff loved rock climbing, exploring the caves of central PA, and playing frisbee.
