I went to West Point for 2 years then the University of Notre Dame obtaining a BA. Thereafter, I attended Case Western Reserve University (CWRU)School of Medicine and obtained a MD. I trained in Internal Medicine and thereafter Infectious Diseases at University Hospitals of Cleveland and the University of Virginia Medical Center. I served at the Chief of Infectious Diseases and HIV Medicine for 19 years at CWRU. My current position is Professor and Chair of the Department of Medicine at CWRU and University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center (UHCMC). I am involved in patient care, research (including international HIV clinical research activities in Africa), teaching and administration. I have been happily married to my wife Jody for 44 years and we have 4 boys. Chris is a corporate lawyer for a large real estate company in town, Mike is an Orthopedic Surgeon at UHCMC, Andrew is a sales person for Smith and Nephew - an Orthopedic Supply Company and our youngest son Matt is living in Phoenix and is an executive with the NBA Phoenix Suns. We have 10 grandchildren including 2 granddaughters then 8 boys thereafter. My wife is busy involved in the care of her 95 year old mother after retiring from her work as a pre-school teacher. We both enjoy the grandchildren. I have fond memories from my time at Mooney especially our classmates. I look forward to catching up with so many at the reunion.
